What it is

An early warning check for structural risk

Your membership is your club's most valuable asset. The Health Check identifies whether your club has meaningful structural membership risks — the kind unlikely to appear in your current reporting but capable of affecting membership sustainability over the next three to five years. It is based on a minimal data submission and draws on lifecycle analysis, structural assessment and benchmark comparison.

The purpose is simple: identify whether there is anything your board should investigate further, and where the greatest opportunities exist to strengthen the membership for the future.

At one club, membership grew by 39% while the proportion of established members fell from 67% to 51%. The headline figure suggested a healthy club. The underlying structure revealed that growth was not translating into a stronger established membership.

The Health Check does not tell you whether your membership is growing. It tells you whether it is becoming stronger.
